Living in a world where everything is readily available to us at the click of just a couple buttons has brought the idol of pleasure to the forefront for modern disciples. We often think of Jesus’s messages of hope and comfort and peace and we assume this means we will not suffer in this life as His disciples. In reality, Christ gives us this promises to strengthen us through the trials, to give us hope in Him, and not in that which will ultimately fail us.
