Passage: Matthew 11:25-30

The idol of busyness is one that has overcome the Western culture to a detrimental degree. Many families are so busy with various activities they can’t sit around the dinner table together. Spouses barely connect except for a quick touch-down before bed. But, as disciples of Jesus, it’s often in the times of slowing down, of stopping for a conversation, of simply being present and together, that we have opportunity to share the good news of Jesus, and to be the good news presence of Jesus in the lives of those around us. Casting down the idol of busyness is keeping our focus on what God says is important in our lives, not what the world says is important.
