As many grandparents have said, there is great joy in seeing multiple generations of one family together and it can be humbling to consider that each of us has the opportunity to impact the generations that follow us. For too many though, they get so caught up in leaving a “legacy” that they miss the God-given opportunities and purpose in the present! The idol of our “legacy” is one that has led many people throughout history to make poor, morally-corrupt decisions, all in an effort to kept their legacy intact. Ultimately, as we live our lives faithfully, in the truth of God’s Word, in recognition of our need for His forgiveness, and through His abundant blessings, our legacy is one of faith in Him, not glory for ourselves.
