Passage: Matthew 15:1-20
Jesus’ main struggle with the religious leaders was that their lifestyle did not match their heart. Outwardly they appeared to be faithful to God, to love His people, to do all the right things, but inwardly, their heart was cold and apathetic towards God and others. We all struggle with the same. Hypocrisy is a reality throughout our world, but especially true in the gatherings of Christ’s disciples. However, as disciples of Jesus, we are called to humility and authenticity, with Jesus and with one another. It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about having it all together. It’s about showing our faith in God to be the One who provides for, cares for, and loves us and others without boundaries, every day!
