Generosity of our time, our resources, our skills, is a command of obedience of God. But, this obedience does not lead to our redemption, but flows out of the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. Paul encouraged the Corinthians in their cheerful giving, as an outpouring of the joy in their hearts for the incredible work of Christ in their lives. So, too, with us, our generosity comes from the overflow our hearts set free in Jesus Christ. As we experience in Christ, so we desire others to experience, and through our generosity, this happens every day!
