Isaiah’s indictment of empty worship exposes how easily we profane God’s holy name when our hearts are divided and our prayers mere ritual. In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus calls us to address God as “Our Father Who Art in Heaven,” reminding us that His name isn’t made holy by our works or our words. Rather, it is His might, majesty, and creative power that have made Him worthy of our praise. We come to Him in childlike repentance and faith, pleading for His creative power to work in our own lives as we seek to be made new in Christ.
