Passage: Esther 4:12-17
Esther is a model of God's providence, placed in her position "for such a time as this" to deliver her people. Though God's name is never explicitly mentioned in the book of Esther, His sovereign hand is evident throughout, much like how Christ's work is hidden under the suffering of the cross. In Jesus, we see the ultimate intercessor who, like Esther, risks His life—except He does so to save all people from sin and death. Esther's courage points us to trust in God's perfect plan and His power to save.
