His Word, My Faith

Acts 8:26-28

The Ethiopian Eunuch is the first clear reference of somebody not of Jewish heritage to be baptized as the Gospel spreads throughout the region in Acts. This powerful story shows the work of the Spirit in the apostles’ lives, as well as those who were saved in their sharing of the Gospel. It also shows the promise of the Spirit to provide words to speak as Phillip teaches the Scriptures to the eunuch (8:36). What happens as this eunuch goes, baptized and redeemed, only the Lord truly knows, but as he departs so the Gospel goes with him to Ethiopia and wherever else he might have traveled.

Series Information

Following the resurrection of Jesus, Luke records the beginnings of the The Way, the followers of Jesus. This included time of great persecution, uncertainty, and shockingly, incredible growth for the Church. In the midst of the Book of Acts are stories of great transformation as the Gospel is proclaimed, shared and lived out. This series will look at some of these stories to better understand our own stories of transformation in the love and truth of Jesus.
