The struggle in today’s culture seems to be opposing ends of the same spectrum – we either think too pridefully about ourselves, or we drastically undercut our skills, talents, and passions and the impact they may have on the world around us. God has perfectly, and uniquely, gifted us for the purpose He has called us to, not for our glory, but for His. Our picture-perfect self is not the one that brings us glory, but the one that brings God the glory through our praise and honor of Him.
