When God makes a promise He does not go back on that promise. In baptism, every person, no matter their history, experience is promised faith by the power of the Holy Spirit, forgiveness of their sins in the death and resurrection of Jesus, and the hope of eternal life to come. The gift of baptism is not one to be rejected, ignored, or misused, but one to be celebrated and returned to daily as we live our lives as disciples of Jesus.
