Winter Weather Procedures

Texas weather is known to be unpredictable, especially during the winter season. As a result, the weather, at times, may necessitate changes in our normal schedule or force cancellations.

In the event of any weather-related closing, notifications will be sent/posted to the following areas:

  • Congregational-Wide Email
  • Mobile App Notification
  • Social Media postings (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Front page of our website
  • Calendar page of the website

Peace Lutheran/Red Apple reported closings can be seen on the following local channels:

  • KXAS: Channel 5. NBC.
  • WFAA: Channel 8. ABC.
  • KTVT: Channel 11. CBS.

Red Apple School will follow HEB School delays & closings.

The Church Office will follow HEB School delays & closings as well.

If the church office is closed for any weather-related incident, all scheduled activities for that day (morning, afternoon, evening) are canceled.

If you are unsure if your event, meeting, rehearsal, etc… is still meeting, contact the leader of the event for more information.

For our Sunday worship services – if inclement weather is present on a Sunday morning, a decision regarding the cancellation of worship services will be made by 7:00am. Should a cancellation be necessary, notifications will be sent out by 7:00am.

As a reminder, if you are uncomfortable with driving in any weather-related situation, do not venture out onto the roads. Please stay home! Your safety is important to us!
