When we came back from Africa, the first person from Peace I
ran into (coincidentally at a Whataburger) asked me, How was Africa?
Some were apprehensive about our going, but since weve returned,
everyone wants to know, How was Africa?
We will look for a time to share the full story about Juba in South
Sudan, but in worship this weekend I have to begin. We asked the people
of Peace to pray that God would put everything in place for the meeting
with Bishop Andrew, the head of the Lutheran
Church in Sudan. God did that and more than
we would have imagined, even back in
Nairobi at the International Lutheran Church.
I also cant wait to introduce you to a
little girl we met in Juba, outside the Anglican
Church. The Word of God for life this
weekend is Revelation 3:7-13 and Revelation
7:9-12.
Its that time of year again
when the books
begin to be hit with a renewed sense of purpose.
We need your help parents! If you have a college
student in your family, whether they left home or
not, we need their contact information: school
name, mailing address, e-mail and telephone
number. Please submit this information to DCE
Rebecca at becky@peacechurch.org as soon as
possible or look for an information table out in the Foyer in September.
We want your student to receive the devotional e-mails, information
about the upcoming events, and the ever-popular care packages. Also, if
your student was unable to be at our College Blessing and they would like
to receive the small gift and words shared by Pastor Rossow, please let us
know as well and we will get that to them as soon as we are able.

them the best, but will miss their leadership at worship. If you are interested
in joining the team, talk with Cindy Hurd at (817) 284-1677. We need you!
Kaffee Haus, based on a German eatery tradition, will be Nov. 7 and 8,
(Friday and Saturday). The Music Department sponsors this event, but will
welcome one and all to take part. Lots of cooking in the kitchen, decorating,
planning for table waiting, and anything that a good restaurant provides.
This is also a way to invite our local community to come and visit Peace
Church. What would you like to do? Watch for sign-up tables with

7th & 8th Grades meet in Youth A & B from 9:30-10:30 am

Come, and discover new hope for this new school year!
Snapshots of the Gospel
Snapshots of the Gospel, a seven-week Bible Study led by Pastor Justin Rossow, will begin on Sunday, Sept.
7 at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. This is a Bible study you will not want to miss, so mark your calendars.
MONDAY:
Peace Life Fellowship offers two opportunities on Mondays for
continuing your Christian growth through Bible Study. You are welcome
to participate in one or both of the classes.
(1) From 8:45-9:45 am on Mondays, join with others who are reading
through the Bible in one year. Each day there are readings from the Old
Testament, the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. During the All of
Gods Word class, the group discusses the readings and encourages each
other to persevere in reading every day. You can start any time.
(2) At 10 am on Mondays, Bible Study is held in the Fellowship Hall with
a variety of topics planned throughout the year. See a Peace Life
Fellowship brochure for a listing of classes scheduled for the fall.
WEDNESDAY:
Joshua
The Wednesday morning Mens Bible Study Group will resume its class with Joshua on Sept. 10. This group
meets from 8:30-9:30 am on Wednesday in Fellowship Hall 4. Dan Brown will be the facilitator.
This is a nine-session study of the book of Joshua using the LifeLight Series of study materials. A student handbook
will be used with the participants Concordia Self Study Bible. The study begins with biblical cursing of Canaan, the
appointment of Joshua as leader of the Israelites, and the conquering of Canaanite lands by the Israelites. The group will
look at the aspects of Gods presence with the Israelites and how he keeps his promise to mankind even today.
In November, this group will study Gospel, Law and ReformationPart 2. This 12-week class involves a
lecture in video format followed by class discussion. Emmit Koelle will be the facilitator.
In the Fullness of Time
Peace Life Fellowship offers a Wednesday AM Bible Study (WAMBS).
WAMBS is studying Dr. Maiers
book In the Fullness of Time from 10-11 am on Wednesdays. The book is divided into three parts: (1) The First
Christmas, (2) The First Easter, and (3) The First Christians. Parts 1 and 2 draw on the Gospels, emphasizing Jesus
birth, and crucifixion and resurrection. Part 3 is based on the book of Acts and covers the spread of Christianity.
All of Gods Word
Peace Life Fellowship also offers an opportunity on Wednesdays to meet with others who are reading through
the Bible in one year. All of Gods Word meets for an hour beginning at 11:15 am. This is similar to the class that
meets on Mondays. You do not need to attend both sessions to participate in reading through the Bible in a year.
Women of Faith
Womens Bible Study Women of Faith Series will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 10. This
class meets from 5:30-7 pm in Youth classrooms A&B. Luci Swindolls Cultivating Contentment
will be the topic for discussion. All women are welcome.
THURSDAY:
The Gospel of John
The Ladies Thursday morning Bible Study will begin Sept. 11 and run until Nov. 20 from 9-11 am in
Fellowship Halls 1&2. The group will study The Gospel of John, and the facilitator is Mary Lanier. The group will
not meet Sept. 18 due to a conflict in schedules.
This Bible Study is a time for personal study, fellowship, singing, sharing, relationship building, learning,
praying. We will develop new relationships and renew old ones. Our small group time will allow us to pray and care
for each other.
