Welcome to Stephen Krahn's page at Peacechurch.org.  I'm the organist here, and I've been asked to post information about the organ music and other instrumental music used at Peace Lutheran.  Since I'm fairly new to the art of creating web pages, don't expect much besides text for a while.  Eventually you should be able to enjoy musical examples, pictures, links, and all the fun stuff that can be accessed on the web.  For now, I'll include a brief bio.

I come to Peace Church after a 12 year stint at Buckingham United Methodist Church in Garland, TX.  Before that, i was organist/choirmaster at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Lincoln, NE, and before that I was the organist at First-Plymouth Congregational in Lincoln, a church with a large music program where I performed under the baton of such guest conductors as John Rutter and David Willcocks, and was featured in a few recordings including the only commercially available one of Horatio Parker's Concerto for Organ and Orchestra.  I've also performed with the Nebraska Chamber Orchestra and. the Dallas Chamber Orchestra.

This Sunday, February 13th, at 6:00 pm, I will be performing a recital in the Sanctuary.  The first half, on piano, will include Brahms' Sonata in C, Op. 1, and Two Nocturnes Op. 62 by Frederic Chopin.  The second half, on organ, will consist of Buxtehude's Prelude in A (BuxWV 153), and Jean Langlais' Suite Medievale.  The program is free and open to the public.
