- Love Story
- This couple is in love! They're sitting in the second story
of a house, beneath a storybook roof. They can remind you that
Ruth ("Roof) tells a wonderful Love Story.
- Ruth was a young widow who left her home in a country called
Moab (which was across the Jordan River). Ruth left so she could
help her mother-in-law, Naomi, whom she loved very much. They
lived in Israel together. For food, Ruth searched for extra
grain in fields belonging to a man named Boaz. Soon, Boaz fell
in love with young Ruth. All those hearts floating around show
you how much they were in love!
- Ruth did what God asked while most people sinned (remember
Israel's cycles of sin?). So God blessed Ruth with a new husband
(Boaz) and a son (named Obed). He also blessed her by making her
the great-grandmother of King David. That means she was an
ancestor of Jesus Christ! That's pretty important, wouldn't you
say?!
- The story of Ruth tells us that God is interested in our
lives. It also shows us that He blesses us when we obey Him and
when we trust Him to take good care of us.
