- Sovereignty
- Just look at poor Job! He's a mess, isn't he? He lost
everything he had. But you can see that he was still in God's
hands! That's because of God's Sovereignty (say "SOV-run-tee").
That means God is always in control of everything!
- Job lived a long time ago. God's enemy, Satan the devil,
wanted to take everything away from Job. Satan thought Job
wouldn't love God anymore if Job lost all he had. God said that
wasn't true! So God let Satan do some bad things to Job. And Job
lost everything—his family, his home, all his things. He even
got very sick! It was awful!
- But God was right! Job never stopped loving Him! Job didn't
know why the bad things were happening. He even asked God, "Why
me?" But Job trusted God's sovereignty. That means Job really
believed that God would always take care of him, even if he
didn't understand why the bad things were happening. Look at
those hands of God again. Pretty big, huh?
- In Genesis we see that God has loved us from the beginning.
He made a whole wonderful world for us to live in!
- In the end Job still loved God very much. And God gave Job a
brand new family and restored all things—all his property—that
Satan had taken from him!
