Rev. Steve Wiechman
Pastor of Pastoral Care
Steve was born in 1972 in Texas, and was raised in Houston most of his life. Steve graduated from St. Mark's school in Houston in 1986 and went on to graduate from Lutheran High North in Houston in 1990. After attending Austin College in Sherman, Texas for two years, he graduated from Houston Baptist University in 1995 with a B. A., majoring in both English and Art.
Steve's plans were to continue his education in a master program and teach art at the college level. God had different plans for him. In 1996 Steve began working part-time as the Youth Director at St. Mark and then became full-time Youth Director in 1997. In 1998, Steve married his beautiful bride Jamie. Jamie taught junior high for one year each at Lutheran South Academy in Houston and Holy Cross Lutheran School in Collinsville, Illinois. Little did they know what God had in store for them.
One year later, in the summer of 1999, Steve enrolled at Concordia Seminary. The next year, Steve and Jamie were blessed with the birth of their son, Austin. In 2001, they moved to Oviedo, Florida where Steve served his vicarage at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Lord once again blessed them, this time with a beautiful baby girl, Gabriella. Steve graduated from Concordia Seminary in May, 2003 and accepted his first Call to serve as Associate Pastor of Peace. What a joy to be a servant of the Lord and to follow where He leads!
