While Karen was born in Bossier City, Louisiana, she moved to Texas only two weeks later. Her father was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base in Ft. Worth, which is where she spent most of the early years with her three brothers. In 1963 they moved to Haltom City, where she graduated from Haltom High School. She attended Haltom City Christian Church where her family was active, until she met and married this Lutheran fellow, Glynn Meissner in October of 1977. One day before their anniversary, their daughter, Ashley, was born. Karen and family come here from St. Paul in Ft. Worth where they were active in youth and adult ministry.
One year later, in the summer of 1999, Steve enrolled at Concordia Seminary. The next year, Steve and Jamie were blessed with the birth of their son, Austin. In 2001, they moved to Oviedo, Florida where Steve served his vicarage at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Lord once again blessed them, this time with a beautiful baby girl, Gabriella. Steve graduated from Concordia Seminary in May, 2003 and accepted his first Call to serve as Associate Pastor of Peace. What a joy to be a servant of the Lord and to follow where He leads!
