Passage: John 5:21-29

Of all the significant days in the Church calendar, we celebrate Easter with the most unabated joy. The resurrection of Jesus Christ means that the sacrifice He made was worthy – to remove our sins, to offer us salvation, and to reconcile us once again to our Creator. The blood of Christ was an acceptable offering, and because we are cleansed in His blood and clothed in His glory, we will also be resurrected. The Church of Christ has proclaimed the “resurrection of the body” since the time of the Apostles. Even further back, Job declared his faith in the resurrection of the body while he was still suffering. We don’t weep and grieve at funerals without hope, as those who don’t believe often do. We grieve what we know is a temporary separation from our loved ones, knowing that Jesus Christ will call us out of our graves and into eternal life.
